2024 Recap: The Launch of ViewHaven

As 2024 comes to a close, I find myself reflecting on a year that has been transformative in so many ways. After years of holding onto the vision in my heart, this was the year that ViewHaven finally came to life—a project inspired by a legacy of kindness, resilience, and purpose.

A Dream Realized

The journey to ViewHaven has been decades in the making. The name itself has a deep connection to my father, who created “Viewhaven Nursery” nearly 40 years ago. For almost 20 years, I’ve owned the domain name without truly knowing how to use it. This year, everything finally clicked. ViewHaven became not just a name, but a mission—a way to honor my father’s legacy and the many influences in my life who have taught me the power of encouragement and giving back.

The First Tokens of Hope

2024 was about taking the first steps toward that mission. It began with creating small tokens that carry big messages of hope and purpose. From a shoe charm to our first coin, these “physical reminders” were designed to inspire and encourage others on their journey.

The coins, in particular, hold a special place in this story. Each one features the Chi Rho, a symbol of Christ, alongside the Alpha and Omega, reminding us that God is the beginning and the end. On the reverse, they bear the powerful words of Joshua 1:9:
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

This Christmas season, I had the privilege of delivering these coins to an assisted living home with my kids by my side. It was a small act, but one filled with meaning. Seeing the joy these tokens brought reinforced the importance of ViewHaven’s mission: to spread hope and encouragement to those who need it most.

A Website with a Legacy

After years of hesitation, I finally brought the ViewHaven website to life. It’s more than a digital presence—it’s a compilation of stories, memories, and purpose. It’s a tribute to my father and all those who have influenced my journey, from my parents to my family, who have always exemplified generosity and kindness.

The website is a starting point, a platform to share reminders of hope and connect with others who want to help spread the message. I hope it becomes a place where encouragement flows freely—from us to you, and from you to those in need.

Looking Back, Looking Forward

As 2024 ends, I’m filled with gratitude for the progress we’ve made. Launching ViewHaven has been an incredible step, but it’s just the beginning. The shoe charm, the coin, and the website are only the foundation. I’m excited to share what’s next for 2025, but that’s a story for another day.
