2024 Recap: Launching ViewHaven
2024 was the year the ViewHaven journey began—a quiet dream in my heart finally stepped into the light. After years of praying, waiting, and envisioning, I launched ViewHaven: a personal and family mission rooted in the belief that everyone is on a journey, and everyone deserves encouragement along the way.
The name ViewHaven has deep roots. My father created it over 40 years ago for his nursery business in Damascus, Maryland. I’ve held the domain for 20 years, unsure of what it was meant for—until now. This year, ViewHaven found its purpose, and in many ways, so did I.
We began by creating simple, meaningful tokens of encouragement. A shoe charm came first, followed by our first edition coin—carefully designed with Christian symbols and scripture to serve as physical reminders of hope, strength, and identity. The Chi Rho, the Alpha and Omega, and the words of Joshua 1:9 came together to speak directly to the heart:
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
With the help of my kids, we delivered the first batch of these coins to an assisted living home for Christmas. It wasn’t the number of coins that made it feel significant—it was the intention behind them. These reminders aren’t just for people facing hardship. They’re for anyone who wants to live out their purpose by encouraging others.
ViewHaven is about embracing your journey with hope and purpose—no matter where you are on that path. It’s about honoring those who came before us by creating something new that carries their legacy forward in meaningful ways.
